Ollie Crawford, who lived her** in hie boyhood days, was arrested at Central City last week, charged with cutting his wife with a pair of scis-iors. They live at Colum bus. Ohio, and an officer from that city came after Crawford and took him to Ohio’s capital for trial. I’rof. J. IJascom McClure, for merly ot this place, will he married August 30th to Miss Mary Chaffin, of Mingo county, W. Va. He is a young man of the highest integrity and stands very high among the! teachars of West Virginia. The bride is a daughter of a prominei t citizen of Mingo. — I Jig Sandy News. Elmer Cloy, a colored man who liven in Brownstown, fell from a a ladder twenty feet to the pave ment last Saturday, while engaged in painting a building on Eighth street, Huntington. His ankle was dislocated and his hack badly hurt. He was brought borne in the Huntington patrol wagon the same evening the accident hap pened and is getting along as well as could he expected. Chas. (). Beach is in receipt of a letter from his father, of King fisher, Oklahoma, in which he states that wages there for com mon labor is lower than was ever known before. When Frank Messiek went to his saw mill last Tuesday morning on Mill Hun, he incompany with Henry Ilaffer, Jr., saw three large rattle snakes lying close to the spring near by, and after some fighting killed them. The largest one was three inches in diameter, and the three combined in length were 13 leet and four inches. Found Gayhart's Clothing. The other day. while Emory Biles was at work on the farm of Mayor A. G. Brown, of south Ceredo, he found three pieces of clothing, near the N. A’ W. station house, which is alleged to be th»- same clothing worn by John Gavhart in the killing of Alex Mullens. The clothing consisted of a coat, pair pants and shirt.
