The Ceredo High School base ball team went to Charleston last Saturday and crossed bats with the High School team of the capital city. In speaking of the game the Charleston News says: “Charleston High school easily defeated Cer» do H igh school in a base ball game which was placed on the local grounds yesterday after noon. The Ceredo hunch missed a tiain and did not arrive in Charles lon until late in the afternoon and consequently the game did not be gin until 4 : 45. Litllepage ami Forsythe were in the points for the local team while Wright and Willis officiated for l he Wayne county aggregation. For the first six innings the game was well and evenly played, but in I he seventh Charleston opened up a batting fusilade and from that time on they had a walkover. When the ninth was completed the score stood ten to six with the home boys hav ing the long end. Littlepage pitched a creditable game, but failed to come up to the showing which he made against Montgomery. He had hard luck in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings, but during the remainder of the game held his opponents safely. Forsythe’s catching and Lively’s play at short for ihe home boys were especially creditable. The Ceredo team gave their pitcher, who was batted hard, good | support. The teams will meet again at Ceredo on the 25th.” ♦ • ♦ For a cold or a cough fake Kennedy’s Laxative Cough Syrup. There are thirty »:x cases cited and with apparently no attempt to select accidents of an ordinary nature, but | in glancing it over, one is struck with the fact that at least twenty-five, and possibly two or three more, of these accidents, befell what might be termed the average b-islness man in his everyday round of life. One was Injured while stepping from an elevator; four sustain ed injuries in conne< tion with their dailv trips on street.cars; several met mishaps on side walks; two fell on steps, aud so on. It is the same with the experience of every accident in surance company. It is the unexpected that happens and it happens to the man that is least expecting It.
