MEDICATED VAPuR INHALATION, In the treatoent of Consumption and kandred affections? Tbe most absurd notions, narrow-minded prtjadiccs, con te&ptiUeif&orascc, and a&bidddcg quackery, hare lone ex IsSedin tbe treatment of Consumption. Men of akBt and re putation as physicians, b*ve prescribed nauseous compounds to be takes Into the ilomacb, to core disease* of the long*, while She braaea-faced quack beid up bis nostrum as tbe only star of Lope for tbe consumptive?if only enough of it were swallowed. Tbe stomach, vrbere no disease exists, being the receptacle of all this, is soon rendered unfit to perform Its functions, and the health thus materially Injured. All must see the absurdity, the positive injury of such a course; tbe disease is In tbe tunc, not in the stomach; then why, in the name of common sense, do jrou not apply medicine directly to the lungs? Tbe advantage of Inhalation in Consumption aad Throat Diseases Is, that medicines in the form of > apor are applied directly to the lungs, where the disease exists; the stomach Is thus left perfectly free to aid in restoring health, by administering to It b^slthy, life-giving food.? There Is no ease so hopeless that Inhalation will not reach. Tbe means, too. are or ought within the reach of all, the manner of administering the Vapors being so simple, that the Invalid is never required to leave home, where tbe hand of friendship and affection tends so sneh to aid the physi cian's effort. The Inhaling method Is soothing, safe, and speedy, and consists In the administration of medicines in such a man ner (hat they are conveyed into tbe lungs in the fvmi of va por, and produce their action at tbe lit of the disease. Its practical success is destined to revolutionize the opinions of tbe medical world, and establish tbe entire curability of Con sumption. I appeal to the common sense of all afflicted with lung dis eases, to embrace at once the advantages of Inhalation, aad no longer apply xnodfcfne to the unoffending stomach. 1 claim for Inbalatiee a place amongst the precious gifts that nature and art hath given us, that "our days may be long in the Jan?V and as the only au or keitjuk *obth? consumptive, A method not only rational, but ahnple, safe and effica cious. To many of my professional brethren throughout tbe Union, I tender my acknowledgements for their frank and manly course la testifying to the merits of Inhalation. I shall be pleased to co-operate with them in offering to the afflicted the blessings of Medicated Vapor Inhalation in the treatment of Consumption. One word for myself, in answer to those claiming to have introduced the practice aud to the tribe of imitators, who, with brazen Impudence, claim it as their own. I both wrote in favor of Inualatiuu sud practiced it 16 years! The appa ratus then uced, with the medical agents employed, achieved only a partial success; I therefore did not claim for it then the miraculous powers which a long practice has since ena bled xne to give it. Proof of this may be found in my work published In 1640. Applicants will please to state If they have ever bled from the Lungs, if they hare lost any ?c?btLave a cough, night sweats and fever turns, what and bow much they ex pectorate, what the condition of their atomachs aud bowel*. Thfc necessary medicines, apparatus, ?c., will be forwarded to any part. Ttwis?fS consultation fee. Balance of fee payable when patients report themselves convalescent. RECOMMENDATIONS BY physicians. We, the undersigned practitioners in medicine, cheerfully and heartUy recommcrd Dr. Rose'* method of treating dis eases of the Lungs and Throat, as the best and aion effectu j al ever introduced Into medical practice. Our conriction* are baaed upon having several of our own patient*, contiraj ed consumptives, restored to vigorous health a fur a few months' treatment by Dr. Rose. In the absve nnrn- H dis eases, the application of Medicated Vapor*, inhaled direct ly Into the Lungi. may be Justly considered a great boon to suffering humanity, rendering Consumption a perfectly cura ble dlseaae. Dr. Ro?e deserves well of the profession for Ida unwearied labors in bringiog tbe Inhaling method to such a degree of perfection. Rllt h Bio ft, M. D. Jox ts A. Mutt, 31. D. CtHC'J KlStifLET, M. D.
