JURY DIASGREES — In Case of Jimei Bachman, Charged With Conducting a Gambling Room in the City, After deliberating for over two and one-half hours and being hopelessly divided, the jury In the case of the State vs James Bachman, on trial In the Criminal Court on the charge of conducting a gambling room, was discharged shortly before 6 o'clock last evening by Judge Jordan. The case was on« appealed from the police court Bacbman and "Dode" : Fisher both having been fined $20 and costs each and sentenced to serve 20 days in the work house. City So licitor Addlcman represented the City and State in the case and 8. O. Boyce the defense. The testimony of sev eral witnesses was to the effect that Bachman had met them on the street and invled them into the building at No 1129 Market street where a poker game was In progress and they ad mitted to playing with varying suc cess. Some of the witnesses «ald they were not Invited in by Bachman and had only seen him passing through. Others had not seen him at all. After the State rested Attorney Boyce trade a motion to dismiss the case hut the motion was overruled and the case was completed and given I to the jury about 3 o'c'ock.
