potato outlook is not very roseate.
It is feared the lateness of Texas
crop will throw too many spuds on

are looked for. The old crop is
not yet exhausted and with thou
sand of cars yet at growing points,
the outlook is problematical.

was appointed to act joints with a
committee from the Corpus Christi
Board of Trade with regard to iu

through the proposed intercoasral
canal. The information asked is to
be furhishedjnot later than Ma3' 15,
and whatejers done will have, to
be done this week. Of course the
tonnage can only be estimated, as!
there is nothing tangible. - upon
which to base an estimate, at pres
ent. Therprocess of development
now going on throughout this sec
tion leads one to the opinion 1 that
an immense tonnage coiild soon be
diverted to the intercbastal canal,
and a report along these lines
should be made at once.
