McBee of Harlingen who came in yesterday, was an outgoing passenger on the noon train today. R. B. Rentfro, who has been on a business trip up the river for a few days, returned yesterday evening. Josiah Turner, ranchman of San ta Maria, was an arrival from Cor pus Christi on yesterday evening's train. Mrs. and Dr. Irvin returned last night from a several days visit to the family of Lon- C. Hill at Har- ingen. W. H Askey, representing the San Antonio Drug Co., came in ast night and is registered at the eahy hotel. Geo. Connor has been appointed oy tne county juage temporary administrator of the estate of Ro drigo Somohano. J. F. Hilton, crockery drummer for Newton, Weller & Wagner of San Antonio, was an incoming pas senger on last night's train. David Young of Santa Anita came in from his ranch todav and will spend a day or two in town, the guests of his cousins the Mc- Davitts. A. E. Moore of Lonsboro, who is engaged with S. A. Robertson in constructing the canal for the Yoakum Syndicate, came in today on the noon train. Hon. G. B. Griggs of Houston, Royall Givens of Corpus Christi, J. P. Taylor of Wharton, and Geo. B. Greer of Corpus Christi, were outgoing passengers on this morn ing's train after a day spent in ooking over our town. Mrs. Jesse O. Wheeler left this morning tor ban Antonio wnere she will spend a few days with relatives and friends. From San Antonio Mrs- Wheeler goes to Ft. Worth to attend the annual meeting of the Crand Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star which convenes in that city at 2 p. m. Monday next. it the 20th. but the quartermaster, h is sergeant and clerk, will probably remain some ten days longer. The Herald acknowledges nleasant call this morning from vn 'Messrs.
