Several official reports of the testimony given by various Browns ville witnesses before the senate committee have been received by The Herald, with the compli ments oSeaator Francis E. War ren, chairman of the committee, The river had risen about twelve feet up to this morning and con tinued at a stand for several hours, but began to fall slowly early this afternoon. It was reported as having fallen considerably at Sam Fordyce and Hidalgo this morn ing, and will probably soon be normal.again here. It ran over a little yesterday above the pumping plant at Villa Nueva. There is some talk of a hotel be ing built in Brownsville very short ly. It is to be hoped it may be true, and that a hotel of good pro portions and equipped in up-to-date style may be buiit without loss of time. Brownsviile is going to lose out next fall .and winter, unless onr hotel facilities are in creased by then. S. Patterson from Pallock, La , W. L. Patterson from Council Bluffs Iowa, J. vv.
