D. Andrews came up from the Point last evening. Miss Lillian Dougherty left to day for San Antonio, to' spend a short time with friends. The many friends of Rev. Father Piloye regret very sincerely to learn that he is still quite ill. General Manager Steager and General Promoter Robertson were ki town today from San Benito. Miss Gladys Rentfroleft today for Corpus Christi, where she will attend the summer normal insti tute. A. E. Buck, traveling freight agent of the St. L., B. & M., left last night for a trip up on the branch road. Mrs. H. B. Terry returned this morning from Mercedes; where she was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. S. P. Silver for several days. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kimball and sisters, the Misses Kimball, returned to their home at Ray- jnondville today, after a short visit in town. Miss M. M. Philpdtt, who has the distinction of having complet ed one of the first houses at San Benito, was in the c:ty today do ing some shopping. " The family of Mrs. J. T. John son moved yesterday from their former location on Adams street to the Leahy cottage on 15th street between Jefferson and Monroe. A. C. Purvis, Joe Roy,- J. T. Clark and Mr. Toombs of San Be nito were arrivals by the morning train, who spent the day attending to business matters in town. B. E. Philpott, who came from Kentucky last winter and became- one of the San Benito pioneers, has gone on a visit to his "old Kentucky home." He expects to return later to San Benito. T. L. Buanell and Miss Eva Bunnell of Linesville, Pa., arrived last night from Corpus Christi, where they spent two.or three days. Mr. Bunnell seems very favorably impressed with the Browusville country. L. M. Levinson of Shreveport, La., is a visitor in the city. Mr. Levinson is interested in the sub ject of waterworks and electric lights, and, in the" event the city builds these utilities, hopes to make some arrangement for leasing them. John vV. Hoit came down last night from the Lomita ranch, where he has been superintending the preliminary surveying for the development of the land. Mr. Hoit will leave tomorrow for his home in Minneapolis, Minn., to spend several weeks. He expects to be, accompanied by Mrs. Hoit and their little daughter on his his return.
