Gore, went down to Padre Island today to do some surveying on the Tarpon Beach town site. Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Walker of Belton, Texas, have arrived to spend thejwinter with their daugh--ter and son-in-law.. Mr. and Mrs. Burnett, in this city. Mrs. W. K. Mr. Heywood talks very entenainingly about his western trip, and had a pocketful of big gold nuggets from the mine in which he and Mr. Stenger are interested. At the home of the bride's father near Olmito, Texas, on the even' ing of Wednesday, Dec. 4., the marriage of .Mr. Harvey Draper Jones and Miss Margarette May Merrell took place, Rev. L. R Burress, pastor of the Brownsville church officiating. A most ele gant supper was served after the ceremony, and enjoyed by the guests, and some ' time was spent byall very pleasantly afterwards. The club meets next week with Mrs. Creager. Run Growing Fast. The little town of Run in Hi- j dalgo county, which is in the i midst of a fine truck country, is growing, fast, according to late re ports. From Andres. Champion, who lives in that part of the coun ty, The Herald learns that since last June twenty-five .new. ,Amer ican families have settled at Run rabst of them joining the ranks .of the truck growers, and five more families are-- expected to arrive there from the north by this ex- cursion. Died, In this city, Thursday, Dec. 5, 1907, at 4:20 p. m., Louise B., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank B. Armstrong, aged six years and seven months. The death of this little one was the result of a very sudden and short illness. Several days ago, 'she was taken with an attack of paralysis, from which she never rallied, and after a brief sea son of suffering, the death angel me and mercifully bore the lit tle sufferer" away.
