Richard Henley, a prosperous far mer of the Donna community, spent yesterday and today in the city look ing after business matters: H. G. Dubose, inspector in charge of the Brownsville district of the immigration service, spent today in McAllen on official business. V. Esperon of Hidalgo was among the passengers on the Hidalgo branch train yesterday evening, hav ing came in to look after business affairs. Tho Brownsville Electric and Plumbing Company is doing some ex tensive plumbing for Jas. L. Lan drum at his country home near San Benito. C. A. Broussard, who has charge of the soda fountain in the Eagle Pharmacy, returned Sunday night af ter several weeks visit to San Anton io, Victoria. Port Lavaca and other points. D. J. Hegler, who is connected with the Brownsville Electric and Plumbing Company, spent yesterday and today in Mercedes; where he is wiring the home of Mrs. Allen for electric lights. Mr. and Mrs. C. M. McCormick and daughter,. Miss McCormick, are "re cent arrivals from Henderson, Ky., who expect to spend the "winter here. Mr. McCormick lias bought land near San Benito. R. E. Causey, proprietor of the Brownsville Bottling Works left last night for Fort Worth, where he goes to attend the meeting of the State Bottlers' Association, which begins its session-there today. -'- Dr. S. K. Hallam and son, L. H. Haljam, of that .enterprising real estate firm, the Hallam colonization company, spent today at Donna, near which place they have made quite a number of land sales. Mr. and Mrs. G. R, Hart of Rich mond, Ind., who have been spend ing several weks in the valley, lef ing several weeks in the valley, left for home this morning. Before leav ing Mr. Hart purchased a couple of lots in West Brownsville. He stated that he would return next fall and build on them and make this city his home. J. S. McLaughlin of Mission, attor ney and business manager for the firm of Conway & Hoit, spent yester day in town, attending to business matters. He was accompanied by Mrs. McLaughlin, who came recent ly from Minneapolis, Minn., their old home, to join Mr. McLaughlin at Mis sion. Both returned to Mission today.
