Warrants were sworn out last "week for 183 saloonkeepers who kept open on Sunday, Nov. 3rd, and the chances are that in a comparatively short time Spokane will be enduring the Sunday drouth. According to custom, the presi dent has issued his annual thanks giving proclamation, naming Thursday. Nov. 28, as a day of thanksgiving and prayer, and rec ommending that the people of the nation assemble to pray that they may be given strength so to order their lives as to deserve a continu ance of the manifold blessings of the past year. The aforesaid defendants and each of you are hereby notified that heretofore there was issued by the County Treasurer of Stevens County, Washington, certain certificates of delinquency, which said certificates include, cover and embrace the taxes, penalties, inter est and costs legally assessed and charged against the lands and tenements, and each and every lot, tract, part, parcel and portion thereof, in the following list hereinafter described, and situated in Stevens County, State of Washing ton, for the year 1901, so far as said taxes, pen alties and interest and costs are now due, de linquent and unpaid; that the amounts of said certificates, and each of them, against said lands and tenements ahd against each and every lot, tract, part, parcel and portion thereof, are severally set forth in the column herein headed "Amount", that said certifi cates were issued and dated as of October Ist, 1907, and that each and every of said amounts bear interest at the rate of fifteen per cent, per annum from the date of issuance of said cer tificates and each of themr that said certifi cates, and each of them, have heretofore been filed with the Clerk or said Court, and said certificates, and each of them, are hereby re ferred to and made a part hereof; and" that said certificates and each of thein, are now outstanding, in full force and effect and unre deemed. That Stevens County is a municipal corpora tion, created, organized and existing under and by virtue of the laws of the State of Wash ington, is the plaintiff herein, and is the own er and holder of said certificates of delin quency, and each of them.
