'""PHE Welfare button is a matter of pride token of the substantial support that you
and other loyal citizens of South Bend give to help these needy causes through the
year 1920.
The Welfare button will mark you as a man or woman who wants to help some less
fortunate fellow-being.
The Welfare button will distinguish you from the man or woman who doesn't care
whether people suffer and die for want of proper care just so long as he or she has plenty
to eat and to wear, good shelter overhead and all the excesses and pleasures of life.
The Welfare button which you will get by subscribing to the Welfare campaign which
opens Monday, shows that you are one who wants to help hundreds of orphan children,
underfed children, unfortunate mothers, and wayward girls, tuberculosis sufferers, hundreds
of hospital cases that must be cared for, all in South Bend it shows that you are one.
