Plain Synip.
1 egg white.
1 quart of cold water.
4 pounds of s'jrsr.

white and the water in a pr serving

dissolved. Simmer five minuter,
skim and strain. Pour into bottles
and s-a!.

Roil the sugar and water tos' her
for 10 minutes. Add lemon juice,
then boil for an additional min

of water to each cupful of strained
lemon Juice.
Chocolate Syrup.
1 pound of cocoa.
2. cupfuls of water.
1 round of sugar.
1 teaspoonful of vanilla.
Mix he cocoa with a little boil
ing water until nm.ooth. then add
sugar and slowly mix. vith the rest
of the boiling water. Cook until
the boiling point is reached, then
boil for T minutes and bottle.
Usually about 2 table-spoonfuls of
! .--vrup is- enough to flavor richly a
! l.irc tumbler of hc- beverage.

used to insure their preservation.
