and Lovely Cottons

TT OLY new prints in silks
and cottons will make
their appearance for rp ring
TTcar, and charmine, indeed, aro
the costumes developed in all
printed materials or in combina
tions of plrrin and printer!.
Contrasting materials, such as
crepe and crepe de chine, are
used tofjethfr, vrhilo varied fab
rics combine with sports silks.
The latter appears this teason in
all the new colors.
Costumes simulating fkirt and
sweater combinations will be
popular and two very attractive
models of this inspiration are
sketched here.
At the left, red rports sift
showing white polka dots tops a
white canton crepe Bkirt. Sev
eral flat knife-pleats at either
side give fulness without de-
tractin? from the straightline ef
fect. A string belt of rd draws
the frock m at the wnistlrae.
The other frock combines white
crepe de chine with white crepe
showing manve and orange flow
ers scattered over its surface. A
tasselcd rinile of white silk com
pletes the costume.
There dresses 3 re extremer
youthful m effect and may be
worn for smnmcr dress or sports
occasions. The French favor
simple drerses of this type for
all sports, rather than the more
tailored sweater and skirt coa
tame of the American.
