Above is pictured a custom-built Venetian blind manufactured here
by the Tuggle Sash & Door company. These blinds, constructed to
order, are proving popular in the Valley field. The Brownsville concern
is said to be the only firm south of San Antonio making Venetian
blinds to order.
The increasing demand for cus
tom-built Venetian blinds, partic
ularly for th£ better type of homes,
has resulted in a new service being
offered the Valley by the Tuggle
Sash Sc Door company, situated at
257 Fronton street.
This firm, one of the best equipped
in South Texas, is making these
blinds to order, and patrons are be
ing well pleased with the artistic,
yet sturdy jobs being turned out.
This new service makes it possible
for you to have the kind of blinds
you wish without having to take the
stock models usually offered.

Venetian blinds to any size and they
can be colored to fit in with any
decoration theme.
More and more. Venetian blinds
are being used in homes. They are
attractive, durable and are less of
a fire hazard than the draperies
usually found in homes.
Through use of a patented gear
tilt control, the Venetians built by
Tuggle work easily with a minimum
of effort. Poor controls are the most

automatic stop cord which Is posi
tive in its action. The tlK rail of the
control device revolves on one axis,
preventing wear on tapes and cords.
The blinds can be adjusted from
some distance away through use of
long cords. In the Tuggle blinds tne
tapes are woven of long fibre cotton
to insure maximum wear. The cords
used are hollow braided lor long life
and to prevent twisting.
But perhaps most important, the
tilting device operated freely and
smoothly, giving any desired tilt
quickly and accurately. You don't
have to wrestle with these blinds i
half an hour to obtain the desired
effect. *
Venetian blinds can be used to
control natural light, to control
ventilation, to control privacy, to
aid eyesight and to serve as part of
the home, not a part of the remov
able fixtures.
You can control natural light with
Venetians by using the entire win
dow opening for light, by regulating
the light to all parts of the room, by
increasing the intensity of light on
dark days and by decreasing the
intensity of light on bright days.
Venetians make it possible to con
trol ventilation by utilizing any part
of the window for ventilation with
out interference with light control
and they can be used to prevent
drafts
These blinds lend themselves ad
mirably to a well planned and dec
orated home. They can harmonize
with the plan of house decoration
and they beautify the window, the
outstanding feature of any room.
