mission Tuesaay announced It had
authorised Bella lor liuey P. Long
its special counsel, to prosecute a
slate-wide investigation ol electric
rates.
The commission decided by resolu
tion signed by its three members
to empower Long to institute a gen
ersi inquiry into the rates ol all
electric utilities m Louisiana that
have not already been investigated.
Twelve companies are aflected by
the action
Two najor companies. the New
Orleans Public .Senice, Inc and the
Baton Rouge Electric company, al
ready have been investigated.
The former's rates Monday night
were announced reduced to small
consumers and the latter’s under
went a general cut several weeks
ago

scholastic census are being ehirun

census figures of the various dis

The completed census, which is
handled fhroueh the county super
intendents office, will be lorward

Young Osborne who was only
16 years old when Brinrk was
slain, was Indicted on a rhai/e of
murder by the April term grano
jury’ of the 79th Criminal District
court. He was 17 years old in Jan
uary.
