Its keynote is the sparkling spon aneity of youth as contra led with the laborious rejuvenation of an ©Id-timer floundering enthusiasti tally in an atmosphere which tempts and intrigues him. A clever cast and an ambitious production haw been given this show, which fea tures Charles (Buddy) Rogers as the leading Juvenile character, with George Barbier in the title role and such clever eyefuls as B«tty Grable. Barbara Kent, Grace Bradley, Jo Bodges and Evelyn Poe. The talent is strongly reminiscent . ©f “The Gay Divorcee” and “Ro berta.” Eric Blore. the funny but ler of those shows, and Erik Rhodes, another featured comedian from those productions, Betty Grable, re membered for her ’Let’s K-nock Knees" number with Edward Everett Horton in “The Gay Dt •vorcee." are in the cast. Further more, Zion Myers, who was an as sociate producer on “The Gay Di vorcee" and ’ Roberta” supervised ‘Old Man Rhythm.” Jane Hamil ton. Maxine Jennings, Kay Sutton. Virginia Reid and Lucille Ball, the stunning fashion models from “Ro-! , berta” are now seen as college girls in this new RKO-Radio musical, and Rennet P: n erved again as train er of the dancing chorus. The plot concerns a captain of industry's entry into college as a fresh in an in order to keep an eye ( on his sporting son who is enamour ed qf a pretty campus gold digger, and to divert his infatuation to a girl favored by the parent.
