Store
Almost ev§ry man in town knows
some of the things which "the glad new
year" will bring him. The coal bill, the
remnant of last summer's ice bill care
fully preserved by a dilligent corpora
tion, the Christmas present's "glad
hand," and the payment by installments
for some luxury which outclassed his
salary by fifteen pounds stripped. All
these he knows will come his way. If
they don't, someone else has made a
mistake. But the calendars and alma
nacs for 1906 are arriving, and they tell
of some of the most interesting things
pertaining to the new year, which will
prove of interest to many Leon people.
Some of the things mentioned in the
almanacs are as follows:

Jewish era (the year 5667 begins at sun
set of September 19) the year 2569

to Yarro the year 3566 of the Japanese
era, and to the 39th year of the period
entitled "Meiji the year 1324 of the

commencement of the Julian period.
