Gardner. I THE LEON REPORTER, THURSDAY. JANUARY 21, 1009. STOMACH DISTRESS. And all Misery from Indigestion Vanishes Five Minutes Later. Every family here ought to keep some Diapepsin in the house, as any one of you may have an attack of indi gestion or stomach trouble at any time day or night. This harmless peparation will digest anything you eat and overcome a sour stomach five minutes afterwards. If your meals don't tempt you, or what little you do eat seems to fill you or lays like a lump of lead in your stomach, or if you have heartburn, that is a sign of Indigestion. Ask your Pharmacist for a 50-cent case of Pape's Diapepsin and take one triangle after supper tonight. There will be no sour risings, no belchings of undigested food mixed with acid, no stomach gas or heartburn, fullness or heavy feeling in the stomach, nausea, debilitating headaches, dizziness or in ternal griping. This will all go, and be sides, there will be no sour food left breath with nauseous oders. Pape's Diapepsin is a certain cure for all stomach misery, because it will take hold of your food and digest it just the same as if your stomach wasn't there. Actual, prompt relief for all yonr stomach misery is at your pharmacist, waiting for you. These large 50-cent cases contain more than sufficient to cure a case of dispepsia or indigestion. of DECATUR CITY, MAY ESCAPE TAXATION. By Planting Fruit or Forest Trees On Land. The last general assembly enacted a measure to encourage the people of the state of Iowa to grow trees both fruit and forest trees. This is one of the Roosevelt ideas you know and the legis lature got in with him and put the state of Iowa in the lead for conserving the forests of the nation. Chapter 52 enacted by the last legis lature provided that if you have a tim ber lot on your land of at least two aores in continuous area you may have it "reserved" and that it will be assess ed in that event at only one dollar per acre and that it may continue as such so long as you keep the cattle, horses, mules, sheep, goats and hogs out of it. Provided that in all events that the reservation shall have at least two hund' ed trees per acre and that they shall not be willows, box elders, soft maple, cotton wood and other poplars, except that box elder and soft maple may be used as nurse trees in a young forest reservation. If you wish to see the statute it\ full get a 1907 supplement to the code and turn to page 293 and read section 1400 c-d-e-f-g-h-i-j-k-l-m-n-o. You will then be fully informed as to the provisions. The fruit tree reservation may be one acre in area and not more than five and may not be exempt from taxation (or more than eight years, but no farm buildings may be included in the reser vation. You may use the fruit tree reservation for a chicken lot but not for any other purpose except for po tatoes or hay, etc. We do not believe this statute will greatly encourage the growing of forest trees as the grass in all the forest area of this county is worth more than the taxes would amount to in any year. The fruit tree exemption should be known by the people of the county that they may have that much encourage ment to put out fruit trees. If the people of this county are interested in the growing of forest trees they should ask their legislator to have the forest tree reservation part amended so that existing forest tree reservations might be pastured so long as they contained 200 original trees of ten or more years growth. This would actually conserve the forests and- would be worth the while of the people of the state. A Religious Author's Statement. For several years I was afflicted with kidney trouble and last winter I was suddenly stricken with a severe pain in my kidneys and was confined to bed eight days unable to get up without assistance. My urine contained a thick white sediment and I passed same fre quently day and night. I commenced taking Foley's Kidney Remedy, and the pain gradually abated and finally ceas ed and my urine became normal. I abeerfully recommend Foley's Kidney Remedy. Bell & Robinson. Glycerine, Etc., Used as a/V* Simple Wash. It really seems strange that so many people suffer year in and year out with, eczema, when it is now no longer a secret that oil of wintergreen mixed with thymol, glycerine, etc., makes a wash that is bound to cure. Old, obstinate cases, it is true, can not be cured in a few days, but there is absolutely no sufferer from eczema who ever used this simple wash and did not find immediately that wonderfully sooth ing, calm, cool sensation that comes when the itch is taken away. Instantly upon applying a few drops of the wash the remedy takes effcct, the itch is al layed. There is no need of experiment —the patient knows at once. Instead of trying to compound the oil of wintergreen, thymol, glyoerine etc., in the right proportions ourselves, we are using a prescription whicn is universally found the most effective. It is known as the D. D. D. Prescription, or oil of Wintergreen Compound. It is made by the D. D. D. Co., of Chicago, and our long experience with the remedy has given us great confidence in its merits. L. P. Van Werden, Leon, Iowa.
