Miss Rena Gatlin, who has been visiting here for several months at the home of her sister, Mrs. L. W. Orr, left Friday for a visit with rela tives at Shenandoah. Mrs. Chet Pullin, of Akron, Mo., returned last Friday from a visit at Shenandoah, Iowa. Mr. Pullin and little son Fay met her at Leon to accompany her home. J. J. Sears, of near Decatur City, was in Leon last Friday, being on his way home from Garden Grove, where he visited at the home of his daugh ter, Mrs. W. S.- Snyder. Mrs. T. T. Dougherty, the photo postal man, went to Des Moines Tuesday to purchase some new photo appar atus. He leaves next wek for Chari ton, where he will open a new gallery. O. F. Reed, of Davis City, was a visitor in this city last Thursday. He is still walking with a cane, having been laid up as the result of an acci dent several weeks ago when a team crossing the Davis City bridge struck him as he was riding across on horse back and cut a nasty gash in his leg. H. Sharp. Miss Jennie L. Forrey, of Kalispel, Mont., stopped off in this city last Thursday to visit a few days at the home of her cousin, Mrs. Millard F. Stookey, in this city. She was re turning home from an extended visit in the east. Brice McDonough, a former well known farmer of Center township, who recently left here to seek a new location in the west, has purchased a big tract of land near Guyman, Okla., and they will make their fu ture home there. Mrs. J. II. Evans departed last Thursday for Caldwell, Kas., where she will visit a few weeks at the home of her brother, John T. Smith, years ago a well known resident of this county, who resides on a big farm just across the line in Okla homa. Mrs. J. W. Rowell went to Afton Friday to visit a few days at the home of Judge N. W. Rowell, and at tend the golden wedding anniversary of Judge and Mrs. Rowell on Mon day. Dr. Rowell and son Edgar and Mrs. A. L. Curry also went to Aftoa on the early train Monday morning.
