Ketcham and Mrs. J. W. Rowell gave an afternoon lunch eon at the home of Mrs. Ketcham Monday afternoon, in honor of the former's sister, Mrs. G. S. Robinson, of Des Moines. G. C. Sears, who has been in Sask, Canada, for several months, came in today for a short visit with relatives in this vicinity. He says the thermometer registered 20 be law zero when he left there Monday morning. The many friends of Mrs. Lew Pullen in this city, will be very sor ry to hear that she is very ill at the home of her daughter, at El dorado Springs, Mo. Mr. and Mrs. Pulleu went to Eldorado Springs about a month ago to spend the winter, but will return to Leon as soon as Mrs. Pullen is able to travel. Clark, of northeast of Leon, loaded a car here Tuesday and ship ped his goods back to Holstein, Iowa, his former home, where he will again make his home on a farm. We are sorry to lost Mr. and Mrs. Clark as residents of Decatur county, for they are most estimable young peo ple who have made many friends during their residence In this coun ty. That good running horse of P. B. Walker's indulged in another run away Monday, and again John Hil liard was driving him. He started to run in front of the home of Mrs. S. W. Hurst on west Commercial street, and after running a block south turned the buggy over and threw Hilliard out, badly bruising his hip. The horse was stopped after running another block, but the bug gy and harness were considerably damaged. A. F. Kemp has completed his new home, except some outside work which cannot be done until warm weather and the family have r&oved in and are now nicely settled. Mr. Kemp is an old contractor, having built some of the finest residences in Leon, where he lived all his life excepting four years spent in Des Moines working under some of the heaviest contractors and on some of the finest buildings. His new home here is a beautiful Bix-room cottage. —Osceola Sentinel. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. F. S. Gardner entertained .nineteen guests at din ner on Sunday, it being in honor of their eighth wedding anniversary and also in tbe nature of a fare well reception for Mrs. Gardner's aunt, Mrs. E. E. Long, who will leave the coming week for her new home in Wyoming. A five course dinner was served and it is unnecessary to say that the guests aid ample jus tice to it for Mrs. Gardner has a reputation as one of tho best cooks in this city. We have just received a car of ground feed stuffs. We have the Kelley's famous wheat feed chops, Red Dog flour, brown shorts, bran, corn hearts, al falfa meal, and oil meal.
