Lemmax, who for the past year has been employed as engineer at Swift & Co. plant at Clarinda, came in Monday evening and visited here until Tuesday afternoon, when he departed for Oskaloosa, where he has accepted a position with, the Os kaloosa Light and Traction Co. Mrs. VV. M. Snook and daughter. Miss Hattie, who stopped off in this city for a short visit at the faioine of B. VV. Lanning, while enroute home from Grand River, where they had bieen visiting at the home of Mrs. Snook's^ brother, Jacob Switzer, de parted "Thursday for their home at Hiawatha, Kansas. Rev. E. Luny, who recently clo#ed a series of meeting south of Leon, and who is now holding a series of meetings at Palestine church, west of Leon, was a visitor in this city Saturday. The meetings at Palestine will continue all of this week. Afiich interest is being manifested and there is a good attendance. Mrs. Frank Dye, who has. been a patient for several months at the Leon hospital, returned Saturday to her home at Metz, Mo., almost Com pletely restored to healthi -Herijsis- :ter-in-law, T*»*P Mrs. Anna Franks, of Gilt- ner, Neb., who had been here with her, accompanied her to, Metz for a few- days visit before returning home.
