KT*fr l1 THE LEON REPORTER ggm tilt The Most Daring Rug Test Ever Attempted This is a demonstration of our absolute confidence in Whittall Rugs. We know that a Whittall will last for a lifetime in the home—now we are staging this test as a positive proof ol' its marvelous wearing qualities, even under such abnormal conditions as are encountered on the sidewalk. In these few days the wear .on the rug will be equal to many years of wear in the home. We feel cunfident that it will stand the test, and come out of it in such a condition that it will still be gcod for many years in someone's home. Of course, a rug in vour home would never be subjected to such hard usage as this rug. Nor would the conditions lie the same as with a cement walk under it, and the enormous amount of dirt that will ac cumulate while it is on the walk. But yenmriy he svre that a rug that comes through this ordeal will nevt'r wear out in your home. No one has ever dared to make this test with any other make than a Whittall. We Challenge any rug dealer in the coun ty to attempt this test with any other rug9 no matter what the make or the price We want you to see this test for yourself in order that you may be convinced. Then we want to show you some of the Whittall patterns, and introduce you to som2 of the other features which make Whittall Rugs so desirable. C'P iPORTER/'ftiUESI)^ 'JUNE'28 'l9l7 j-y fi- tfi' As announced last week, we are going to place a Whittall Anglo Per sian rug on the sidewalk in front of our store. It will remain there ex cept at night, for eight days, commencing Saturday morning, June 30. These eight days include the 4th of July, when all the crowds attending the celebra tion will walk over the rug.. Saturday evening, July 7th, we will take up the rug and express it to the Whittall mills. There it will be thoroughly steam cleaned by the same process to which every new Whittall is subjected, and which disinfects and ren ders a rug absolutely free from germs and dust... As soon as this is done the rug will be returned to us. We will announce its return in the papers and place it on display in our window where it will be open'to inspection. Then for a definite period df time, to be announced later, we will receive sealed bids upon the rug. At the end of that time the bids will be opened and the rug sold to the highest bidder.
