At a meeting of the Board of Edu cational Examiners, held April 17, 1920, the following regulation wer0 adapted. . "A candidate for a cetificalfy, whd is 17 years of age, may enter any regular examination, and a certifi cate will be granted as soon as the candidate becomes 1S years of age, if he secures the required grades. This applies to both Uniform County certificates and Normal Training High School certificates." Twelve weeks of Normal Train ing or six months of teaching ex perience in- any school in the state prior to July 4, 1919, is required of all candidates. A candidate from another state who has had six months' teaching experience on a regular certificate, is eligible. Such a candidate should file with the county superintendent proofs of teaching experience, signed by directors or superintendents under whom the candidate has taught. The regulation authorizing provis ional certificates to be issued to candidates who hold first or second grade county certificates dated prior to October 1, 1906, on the request and recommendation of the county superintendent, expires June 30, 1920. Mrs. Jake Lantz a daughter of Harlan NickeIl,sof the neighborhood 3 miles northwest of town, was taken to the hospital at enterv'lle on Wednesday night of last week where an operation was performed to ex tract a needle from one of her arms. The needle was sticking in the cas ing of a door against which Mrs., Lantz was leaning and entered her arm above the elbow and she was taken to the hospital only a few hours after it occurred. But notwith standing the short time elapsing from the time of the accident and her ar rival at the hospital, it is reported the needle was found and extracted several inches from where it enter ed the lady's arm and that it took several hours probing by the sur geons before the elusive needle could be located and taken out.—Lineville Tribune. ______________ America excels the world.
