The Audubon County Fair started with a fair attendance Tuesday morn ning, and if the weather proves favor able 1b likely to be a success. The ex hibit is good and the outdoor attrac tions are very extensive, and all should see it if possible. The Atlantic paper gives a lengthy account of a meeting held in that city Friday night, when some of the fa thers invited their own boys to join them in a lunch. The boys expected a "roast" but didn't get it. Both par ties were so well pleased that they will have another meeting as soon as the oysters are running good and strong. Another Veteran Gone Atone o'clock Monday afternoon, September 5, lf10 at Audubou, Sir. Abraham H. Needies passed out to the land beyond. lr. Needles was bom in Morrow county, Ohio, Dee. 23, 1839 and died at the age of 70 years 8 months and 12 days. On Oct. 10,1801 he enlisted in Company I of the -I'.h Iowa Cavalry. On June 18, 18(52 hsj was discharged on accouut of disabil ity. On March 81, 18(34 he re enlisted becoming a member of the same com pany and regiment and on August 8, 1805 he was^discharged on account of the close of the war. He was married Oct. 24, 186:4 at Winter»et, Towa to Miss Mirie A. Boughtou who still survives*. ^ln the spring of 1884 they cameto Audubon, where they havejlived ever since. To this union four children were born. The funeral services were held Wed nesday afternoon from the home at 2 p. m., conducted by the Rev. Ed B. Cousins and the body was laid to rest in the Maple Grovs cemetery wlWre the burial service of the Grand Army was given by members of Alliaon Post. W. S. Roberts accompanied bis daughter, Mre.
