MILL PROSPECTS.—The Dauber- emitli boys inform us that nearly half the building material for the new mill is on the ground, and that in the coursc of a week they will be fully prepared to begin its erection. They intend to push the work for ward with all possible impetus, and I'xpeet to have it in full operation by the time tbc new crop is readv for market. An.citg the Cresco items of the Chicago Times is an inquiry about uiu figlit with lied Jackorand ttiem. That is all well enough, but bet ter not attempt to mix ideas up in a head that's too much befuddled with one idea to pwil use of another. I-'UBNCH RATJ.KOAD.—We BRICK YAKD.— SCARCITY learn from Mr. T. D. Fcathcrly that the work-on the road in the vicinity of Lime Springs is be ing pushed forward with all possible speed. Mr. Fcathcrly has a contract near Lime Springs which embraces some of the heav iest cuts on the line from Cresco to Austin. Ms already working near fifty men,with over a dozen teams, and is steadily increas ing his force. He assures us that we need fclivo no apprehension but that the road Will be extended to Lime Springs cu-lyin (fee season and probably to Austin before fall. Wm. It. Dobson is pre paring to burn 100,000 bricks this spring, on his farm three miles West of Cresco. •The manufacture will be under tho su ptrintendeuce of one tho Alsips, who pronounce the clay of the best quality. The discov ery was made accidentally, at an unexpect ed moment, by a misstep of one of tho par ties whilst they were having a friendly trial of strength on the banks of tho river. Mrs. L. A. Keech is just now re fitting her shop, and is fully pro pared to execute all work in the line of Dress-making and Tailoressing that her patrons may desire on the most reasonable terms, and in ac cordance with the latest fashions. Her shop will be found ono door north of tho- residence of Major Prami in the room recently occupied by Dr. H. C. Prieo as an office. Owing to an unexpected delay in the receipt of of some prinl ing paper, wo are one day lato in issuing our paper this week, but will try and make good tho deficiency by i?suing our next as much ahead of time as this is behind. MOON & Hunt have just reseived a good and seasonable arrival of new and desirable spring goods. They keep themselves fully supplied with the best qualities of goods and sell at the lowest living prices.
