L. Starrett, Harry Stovall, Jr., Mrs. Ethel Phillips, MA. Belle Darden, two chilren of Mrs. Darden, Charles Frenze, A. M. Hood, unidentified man. Many women are among tho seri ously injured, somo of them sustaining broken bones and wounds from which recovery is improbable. Church Escapes Damage. The tornado shrieked above the city only a few minutes, but Its work of destruction was complete. Tho Roman Catholic church, standing directly tn tho path of the storm, alone escaped damage or destruction and stands grimly in a scene of desolation. It has been converted into a hospital. Main street and Cypress avenue, tho two prlnclpnl thoroughfares of tho town, are now impassable and aro piled high with wreckago from end to end, Every business house Is in ruins and there is hardly a home that has not at least suffered the loss of a roof or a window. Hotels Demolished; Guests Escape. Tho Arlington hotel was totally de molished. Eighty guests woro regis tered there, but all escaped uninjured. Tho Brlnkley hotel, Southern hotel and Kelly hotel wero all destroyed, without loss of life however. Rollef squads have been at work all day car ing for the dead and injured. The Rock Island and Cotton Belt railway have placed cars at the disposal of tho local relief commltteo and many people are leaving Brlnkley, seeking, a temporary refuge at other points nearby. Tho dead were sent to Helena, from which point Interment will tako place. Governor Arrives With Aid. Governor Donaghey arrived from Little Rock in the afternoon In re sponse to a call from the citizens com mltteo. He has the situation well In hand and says food, clothing and shelter are the things most needful. Hundreds of peoplo are homeless and aro wandering about seeking a tem porary abode. Three special trains ar rived from neighboring towns bringing relief workers, physicians and nurses. In tho Catholic church doctors and nurses are caring for tho injured. Rook and other cities to raise funds and supplies for the storm victims. Six Dead Near Little Rock. Little Rock, Mar, 10. Six dead and elght Injured are reported Tuesday in this vicnlty as the result of the tornado. Among tho dead are thrco brothers. The Methodist church and school hcuso at Mount Carrael were demol ished and eight houses at Hurrlcauo creek wero destroyed. Tornado In Georgia. Cuthbert, Go., Mar. 10. Tho north western fioctiou of Cuthbert was struok by a tornado at 8 o'clock Tues day night and almost totally destroyed. Between seventy-five and ono hun dred dwellings and business houses wore demolished. Several brick build ings including four mercantilo estab lishments were wrecked. Heavy and continued rains have wrought great damage here and tho situation was serious. Several homes in North Montgomery were abandoned and In mates were carried to places of safety in boat. As Francis Wells, CO yoars old, was riding a mule Sunday, Eli Johnson crept up and gave the mule's tall a Jerk. The mule began to buck and tho rider was thrown on his head and killed.
