Tbe directors of the company say they can no longer pay two and per busbel for digging, as during tbe past year they only cleared 1,000 on 1,000,000 buabels of coal, without counting woar and tear of machinery, &c. Tboy say if tho miners do not accopt a roduotion they will be compelled til shut down tho works. On the othor hand, the miners claim that that they cannot work for lots money and anpport their families. Sales as follows on the lloor: 200 bu red sample, landing, $1 03.1; 500 bu clioico red in elevator, SI 04. Oats had a better tone, soiling at better rates. No. 2 mixed brought 3GJc in elevator and No. 2 white 42A'A43Jc, the inside rate being a salo last evening. In the open market 800 bu No. 2 white, spot, sold at 42Jc, and 800 bu light mixed at 37c. It was not believed that the present rates could be sustained. Buyers regard tho market prices as too high, and hold otf for a decline.
