Evening Mlletus. DAILY, IXCEPT SUNDAY. ROSSEK & McOAUTHY. Prosrietora When the jury was being summoned to try Caleb Powers at Georgetown a few days ago, his attorneys requested the court to have the Sheriff summon repre sentatives of both political parties. In passing-on this request Judge RobbinB administered a rebuke that Power) and his' attorneys richly merited. He said: "I regret that there is. any political tinge in this cape. I shall order the Sheriff and his deputies to summon in telligent, sober, rtfrcreot men, qualified under the law to do jury service. Tne law wisely makes no provision for in quiry as to the political affiliation of the men called on to do jury service. The case at bar is one in which a man is to be tried for complicity in the assassina tion of a fellow man, and there can be no politics in it. I think twelve men, of whatever political party, qualified under the laws, could try it, and I will not give to the Sheriff any such instruction a8 that aeked for."
