THREE LIVES WERE LOST. Fire In the Alhambra Theater Build ing, Chicago. Chicago, Feb. 23. In a bravo effort lo rescue several helpless women, two men, who have been identified as Wil liam Fisher and Frank Beckman, of Cincinnati, lost their lives In the Al hambra theater fire at 4 o'clock Mon day morning. With their dead bodies was found the corpse of a woman, who has since been identified as Anna Smith, residence as yet unknown. It was evident from the position in which the bodies were found, and from other circumstances known, that the men, on being aroused from sleep by the sudden' alarm that the hotel was on fire, had gone Into the hall and assist ed the guests of the house, many of whom wero women, to safetv. In this-.' heroic work the flames caught them.l'j and, after the men had been overpow ered by the dense smoke, their bodies were seared and scorched by the firo. The bodies of the men and the woman they had given their lives to save wero found in a room on the top floor of the building.
