It is now again given out that Commo dore Laidloy will, as soon as the fall rise comes, enter the fast Indiana, one of the best boats on the entire river, in the Pittsburg trade, and she will fight the Pittsburg boats in their own trade. He has also issued orders to cut oil the Columbia from all re-shipping going up the Kanawha Valley. This action was because the Columbia entered into a traf fic arrangement with the independent Ben Hur to re-ship and with the Pitts burg people as well. The Big Kanawha will be entered in the Kanawha river trade to fight the Columbia and will make the trip from Charleston to Cincinnati. In the fight with the Pittsburg line, Mr. Laidley has entered into an agreement with the owners of the Greenwood and Kanawha, whereby much of the ship ping to and from up river points is taken from the Cincinnati and Pittsburg pack ets. The Kanawha and Greenwood are in the Charleston and Pittsburg trade, and the Laidley boats get all the trans shipping that they bring from up river points. . . Attention, Red Men.
