SMALL TOWN THROBS
IN “VERGIL WINTERS"
All the characters typical of an
American small town are found
in “The Life of Vergei Winters,”
RKO-Radio's dramatic romance,
starring Ann Harding. at the
Dream Theatre, tomorrow.
The doctor, the minister, the
shoemaker and the girl in the hat
shop are present. So too are the'
inquisitive and gossipy old maids,
the village belles, the community
politician, the pool hall loafers,;
the rich banker, and the social
leaders, and the girls beyond the
pale of polite convention.
Against this background of
friends, neighbors, enemies and
acquaintances, the love story of
Vergei Winters, the town millin
er. and John Shadwell, son of the
wealthiest citizen, unfolds and be
comes a town scandal and later
a front page sensation.
John Boles plays the leading
male role and Helen Vinson is
seer as the other member of the
central love triangle.
