Man Suffered Burned Hands Fire Last Night A fire alarm from the power' house of the U. S. Smeltin Refin ing and Mining Co., about 2 A.M. today called the Fire Department, which discovered upon arrival that the flames had fortunately already been extinguished. The fire started in the heating plant located just below the brow of the hill on which the power house is situated. Its exact cause is unknown although it was re ported that clothing hanging near the furnace ignited. Wilbur Finnegan on duty, at the time severely burned his hands in putting out the fire, due to his own clothing and other clothes being quite saturated with oil. He was immediately rushed to the hospital where he received treatment and is at present recu perating. The newly organized Volunteer Fire Department turned out in, force, nearly the entire fifteen1 : members presenting themselves 1 ; for duty.
