BENEFIT DANCE WORTHY CAUSE ON SATURDAY Several of the good fellows about town put their heads together yester day and discussed a little question of doing for another what each would appreciate were they unfortunate and placed in the same position. The result is that everyone will be, given the pleasure of helping and there will be a splendid big event given Saturday night at the A. B. hall under the style ot a “Benefit Dance,” to which every person in Seward is iuvited. From the reports received follow ing an informal discussion of thej mutter it is evident that the benelit will receive splendid support. Tickets will be sold bv members of several | fraternal societies and the volunteer tire department, which are co-operat ing in the good cause. Practically most every expense of the event will be covered in advance ami ah. or the proceeds will go lor the worthy cause, for which the dance will be giveu. The tug Annie W. may be sent to Anchorage with oil and gasoline at the first sign of the break up in Cook inlet. Iditarod and Anchorage mail arriv ed last night on the special train which brought K. J. Weir, engineer in charge in from Mile 40. Cold weather follow ed the blow from the north and temperatures as low as 1*2 degrees below zero were registered at the north end of town this morning.
