BENEFIT DANCE
WORTHY CAUSE
ON SATURDAY
Several of the good fellows about
town put their heads together yester
day and discussed a little question of
doing for another what each would
appreciate were they unfortunate and
placed in the same position.
The result is that everyone will be,
given the pleasure of helping and
there will be a splendid big event
given Saturday night at the A. B.
hall under the style ot a “Benefit
Dance,” to which every person in
Seward is iuvited.
From the reports received follow
ing an informal discussion of thej
mutter it is evident that the benelit
will receive splendid support. Tickets
will be sold bv members of several |
fraternal societies and the volunteer
tire department, which are co-operat
ing in the good cause. Practically
most every expense of the event
will be covered in advance ami ah. or
the proceeds will go lor the worthy
cause, for which the dance will be
giveu.

HALL LAST NIGHT
_ »
More interest in athletics was,
shown last night than at any time |
since the organization of the Athletic
club, when a good sized crowd at
tended the first basket ball game be
tween local teams. A surprisingly
fast and snappy game was played
which was rough in “spots”, Johnny
Sullivan proving himself to be a reg
ular acrobat at times. The game end
ed to 28 in favor of Kich. The
Frazier brothers were among the
most noticeable stars. The following
the lineup:
Fonda Kich
Sullivan r.f. Kich
McPhail U Jensen
Fonda c. l‘eitch
Frazier r-g* Sauers j
Kothius l.g. Frazier!
Individual scoring: Sullivan J,;

4, Sauers 1. l*ouls: Kothius 2,
Frazier 1, Kich 4.
Several amusing boxing bout.-' were
