LEGISLATURE IN
DEADLOCK STILL
JUNEAU, Friday, March 1). — The
senate took live ballots this afternoon
which stood the same old four to four
on the proposition for president, and
then adjourned until 12:20 tomorrow.
At a public caucus held last night
by three Wickersham supporters and
two republicans., nothing was accom
plished. This caucus was held alter
j ten ballots had been taken yesterday
afternoon with the same result. The
galleries were packed at the caucus
which lasted until midnight. Charges
and counter charges were hurled and
there was a general airing of opera
tions without result.
The house named all of its commit
tees yesterday afternoon and then ad
journed until 2 o'clock today, but it is
i probable that the governor will not
i present his message as he desires to
. give it before a joint session alter
