CALLS PRESIDENT

JUST PUNISHMENT!
- ;
Immediately after President Wilson j
broke with Germany, a man not in

vile name, at the same time remark

First-Class Sergeant Cheater IT. Mul

immediately stepped up and with one
blow to the jaw knocked him from the
chair in which he was sitting, and fol

He then made the slanderer kneel on j

beating the man was in such a ner

thoughts sufficiently to word the apol

making the man repeat it after him
as he worded it. The sergeant then
warned the man that he would do well
not to repeat any such utterances in

EXCHANGE OFFER
LONDON, March 31.—The idea of
a general exchange of interned citi
zens between Great Britain and Ger-;
many and Austria has been abandon
ed, it has just been stated in the
house of commons.
In the house of lords, I xml Newton
said that preposterous proposals for
exchange had been made by Austria,
who asked for between 10,000 and |
11,000 Austrian subjects interned in
Great Britain for the 200 British civi-,
Bans she had.
Exchanges with Germany are for:
the moment suspended. The Germans.,
in pursuance of their policy of “cold
blooded ferocity,” said Lord Newton,
had announced that they were just as
ready to sink their own incapacitated I
compatriots as to sink British.
