Heine Haasch, who has been em ployed by the government railway on the dock, has accepted a position with the Northwestern Hardware Company, at Cordova, and leaves on the Alame da to take up his new duties. The people along the glacier stream are busy today gathering up wood, of which the stream is full, and cut into stove lengths. Enough wood can be gathered to keep many families in fuel throughout the entire winter. Mrs. Paris, who had the misfortune to be struck by piece of log while the men were blasting the debris from the middle of the gjacier stream, will leave on the Alameda for the Outside. Mrs. Paris has been in Seward for about live weeks, visiting with her husband, who is employed on the steel construction of the radio station at the head of the bay. Through the efforts of T. W. Haw kins, owner of the Van Gilder build ing, the tenants are now supplied with electric light^, a small but entirely ef ficient lighting system having been in stalled yesterday and last night the office and apartment building was beautifully lighted.
