WASHINGTON, Jan. 7.—The Supreme Court ot the
United States today, in a decision, held that tae selective
draft service is constitutional. The decision sustains the
government’s Contention that any given authoiitv of

power to compel citizens to render military service at
home or abroad. Chief Justice White, who delivered the
unanimous opinion, declared that the Supreme Court had
reached the conclusion that most of the opposition and
contention to the selective draft were more imaginary
than real. When the decision was given Provost Marshal
General Crowder immediately wired all draft boards to
post the decision of the United States Supreme Court and
warn all that the government would take quick steps to
bring all offenders and evaders of the draft law to justice.
