Council Consideiina: Prop
osition to Improve River
There will probably be a special
meeting o( the city council tonioriow
night to consider the proposition of
.isking (or aid in securing the Skagwuy
river within its banks. The members
of the council have visited the river in
a body and investigated the proposition
Thev have decided that the cost of the
work necessary to make sure of safety
from a Hood would not be great. They
consulted with Major Terrett as to se
curing aid from the government
through the war department for the
protection of government property,
and from the consultation the council
came away with the conviction that the
chance of getting aid from the govern
ment is by no means hopeless.

R. Bennett, employed by the Dona
hue Lumber Co., residing at 439 South
E street, Tacoma, Wash., says: "For
some time last fall I hail considerable
trouble from a lame and aching back.
I paid little attention to it at first, but
as time rolled by it kept getting worse.
I was uncertain as to the cause. I am
employed with the Donahue Lumber
Co , and my part of the work is what
is called raicher, setting the logs up to
the saw. I thought the constant riding
and jarring of the log carriage might
have caused the trouble; be that a- it
may, I felt the result severely in ray
back, particularly if I stooped, w hen I
could scarcely straighten. Doan's Kid
ney Pills came to my notice and I vri -
cured a box'. They cured the dull,
heavy aching in a very short time and
I was soon able to get about my work
with my wonted vigor. lam *ure if
anyone is troubled from backach>
which arises from kidney complaint
they can depend upon Doan's Kidney ;
