Fads In Medicine.
There are fads in medicine as in
medicine as in uvery thing else and a
"new thing" frequently sells for a
short time simply because it is new.
But in medicine, as iu nothing else,
the people demand and will be satis
tied only with posithc, absolute ineiit
The fact that Hood's Sarsaparilla has
stood its ground against all competi
tion, and its sales hae never wavered
but have remained steadily at the top,
demonstrates beyond any doubt the in
tiiusie Witues of this medicine. The
new things haves come and gone, but
Hood's Saisapaiilla rests upon the
solid foundation of absolute mci it and
its power to cuu and its sales con
tinue to be the largest iu the world.

and that it shall be lestoied to the

That we believe the first and most
important question before thn people
Is the tariff. We believe that the
policy of pi otecting Ameiican indus
tries is the foundation and bulwark of
American development and prospetity.
And we demand such an equitable
variflf upon foieign impoits which
come into competition with Ameiican
products as will not only furnish ade
quate revenue for tlio necessary ex
penses of the government, but will
protect American labor aud Ameiican
wager. We favor the restoration of a
taiifl on wool, as well us upon the im
poi turns of foreign cattle, equal to that
existing under the McKinley law.
Resolved, That protection and
leciptocity are twin measures of Re
publican policy. And wo allogo that
Democratic rule has struck down both,
and we. demand that Loth must be
restoied. Wo demand protection for
what we produce and reciprocity
agreements of mutual interest, which
gain open markets for us iu return for
open maikets for others. Pioteetlou
builds up domestic imlusliles and
trade, and secures for own maiket for
ourselves. Reciprocity builds up our
trade with foreign nations aud finds nn
outlet for our surplus.
Resolved, That we endorse the
national Republican platform as enun
elated at St. Louis without any reser
vation whatever. While we arc bo
l'evcrs iu bi-mctalisin, we believe thai
that the Republican party is the only
true- friend of silver, and will legislate
in such a manner as will bo faorublu
to the ejiiuagi) of silver without dis
turbing tho business interests of the
country. Wo regard tho silver ulank
in.tho national Democratic platform as
simply a subterfuge, iuveuted to con
fuse the people and divett their atten
tion from the true issues before them
Iu this campaign, which is legislation
upon the tariff question.
Resolved, That it is the sense of
this convention that Arizona ought to
bo admitted to statehood, as it would
bo of great benefit to our common
wealth; and we demand our admission
to '.be sisterhood of states, iu this
union1, without further equivocation or
delay.
Resolved, That wo indorse, the
conrso of our delegate to congress,
Hon. N. O. Murphy, aud we believe
that the people of Arizoua have been
well aud ably represented by him.
His labors have always been iu the
interests of his constituents.
A Valuable Prescription.
Editor Morrison of Worthiugton,

valuable prescription iu Electric Bit

it for Constipation aud Sick Headache,
and as a general system tonic it has
no equal." Mis. Annie Stchle, 2625
Cottage Glove Ave., Chicago, was all

food, had a backache which never left
her, and felt tired aud weary, but six

Electric Hitters.
Electric Hitters is a medicine suited
for any season, but perhaps more gen
erally when the languid, exhausted
feeling prevails, when the liver is
toipid and sluggish, aud the need of a
tonic and alterative is felt. A prompt
use of this medicine has ofteu averted
long and peihaps fatal bilious fevers.
No medicine will act more surely iu
counteracting and freeing the system
