The Democratic pre-s anil campaign orators universally refer to the Yava pai county railroad bonds as belli; Illegal. In order to substantiate their assertions will some of them answer the following quest Ions: When did wild bonds become illegal? Were they illegal at the date of issue or did they become so later':1 If they were illegal at time of isue why was it that Yavap.ii county paid Interest on them for eight year, and also made a p.iymcnt of -57,000 on the principal? If they were Illegal at date of issue why was it that some of these politi cians who are shouting about their illegality now did not raise their voice I on behalf of the taxpayers? If they were not illegal at date of issue, at what particular date did they become so and what particular act or circumstance caused their illegality? , As a taxpayer of Yavapai county tins editor of the Journal-Miner is jusl as much opposi-d to the payment of any thing that is not juMtand righl, whet her it is technically legal or whether it is technically illegal, as any one, and lie is open to be convinced on this bond question.
