and broken, but as depth is attained,
its formation is more perfect, and less
' waste dirt, is excavated. For the
. purpose of full development, lour
: tunnels have been run to intercept
! the lode and to work the. mine to a
j better advantage. At the time of our
visit, Tunnel Xo. 2 was in 550 feet;
j Xo. 3, SCO feet and Tunnel Xo. 4, ooO
feet. The lower tunnel will strike
fciifi denominated as a plaza, but to
lie visilirts stranger, it resembles a
waste or the camping out place for
the Indians. AVitli the irrigation fa

transform it to a beautiful park,

During the past week, several parties
from California have secured sites
and the construction of fine business

our town, will be commenced as soon
as building material can bo had. In
a few months our town will be the
largest in the territory as it is the
handsomest. The grain crop in the
valley will soon be harvested, flour
ing mills started and the march ot
improvement still go on.

over a fan, in Stuart's saloon. A fe
