A rich strike is re uorted in the General AHjo mino Globe District. The Reserve mine, Globe, is turn inc out rich ore. The Tiger mill was to have started last Monday. Considerable building is going on in Tucson. Two tons of ore from the Victor mine, Globe, yielded 225 ounces to the ton. The Stonewall mill will soon have plenty of water, lor all milling pur poses. R B. Gates has been appoin,ed by the Supervisors of Final, Justice of the peace at Maricopa. Tre Tucson papers arc afraid that the railroad company will leave Tuc son out in the cold. Dr. J. C. Handy has sued the city of Tucson tor o000 damages, for creating a nuisance on his premises. 31. Goldwater goes after C. W. Beach red hot in last Saturday's En terprise. The assessment roll for Pima coun ty foots up $ 1,850,000, $750,000 more than 1878. Col J. M. Barney is having the Silver King mine and mill photo graphed. L. C. Hughes, will soon start a pa per at Tucson, he having received a large assortment of material, Jane 6lh. Five hundred dollars is the reward offered lor the capture of McCurdy, who killed Keefe on Lynx Creek, Tavapai county. EiUerprue: A shooting scrape oc curred at the Tiger mine a few days since in which a man named Ilecton was shot through the head by B. R. Voght. He was brought to Prescott hy Bob Archer, under a commitment from Judge Kutz, of Bradshaw, and is now in jail. Heeton was not dead ut last accounts but bis recovery was very doubtful. Further particulars we have been unaple to learn. The mail from Yuma to Ehren burg is likely to be carried hence forth via Silver District and Roods' Ranch instead of by way of the Horse Tanks. Men were out this week looking out a good trail on the proposed route. It will be some what shorter and better supplied with water than the present route; nnd will be of great convenience to the miners of Silver District. Good progress is being made in boring the artesian well on the line of the S. P. R. R-, near Mammoth Tank. The work is lcing done by Dougal McDougal. At 515 feet was struck a thick bed of bine clay, which has already been penetrated to a depth of nearly 80 feet. In this clay was found a stratum of sand heavily loaded with fair water for drinking, but unfit for steam as it carries some 62 grains of salt to the gallon. There are strong hopes that a good Sow of water will be struck under the clay. Sentinel Besides some 200.000 pounds of mercliandstj forwarded last week by Col. J. 31. A. Fuller, of ijedar Vailcy, Mohav County; 60,000 pounds of salt for the Tiger Mill, via Tip Top ; also 20,000 pounds of minini machinery, by Caldwell's team?, for the Western M. Co., of Tombstone District. These were nice shipments and speak vol umes of the rapid growth of our Ter ritory.
