OUTFIT BEING TESTED
J. P. Hannon is testing out the local
breed casting set, received recently
from the States. While testing the
apparatus he was interrupted by in
quiries as to when Seward had receiv
ed a plant and who it was talking. I
the equipment works properly poles
will be erected immediately, and the
outfit made ready for business. This
ie the first broadcasting outfit to be
set up in the Third division.
SMOKES ON MAYOR-ELECT
Mayor-elect L. V. Ray is passing
out the smokes this morning in cele
bratoin of his success at the polls.
The Seward Drug store is acting as
the dispensary.
TRAIN LATE
On account of a slide on the road
the train this evening will be two
hours late. The morning departure
of the train will be made at SIX
o’clock.

ern. With him he is taking a large
shipment of furs, which will be dis-!
posed of in the Puget Sound city.

MARINE INFORMATION
The steamer Northwestern is not
expected to arrive in Seward until 3
o'clock tomorrow morning. The ves
sel lias 418 tons of local freight and ns
soon as this is unloaded the return
trip to the states will be made.
The Admiral Sebree, which left Se
attle some days ago, will not call at
Seward but go to Anchorage direct, no
freight being consigned to tin* local
port.
