Davis JUNEAU, Alaska—Tlys Treadwell Company has abandoned its prospect ing work on the mining claims on the Tulsequah River, a tributary to the Taku River, held by it under option from certain Douglas residents, and has surrendered its option. The pros pecting done by the company, it is said, failed to produce satisfactory showings that would justify further expenditures. The Bridge Club will meet at the home of Mrs. Ralph Reed, Friday at the usual hour. W. J. Boyd left on the train this morning for his home at Roosevelt, after spending a few days in town. Love, manager of the All Alaska magazine, The Pathfinder, was a thru passenger on the Evans, en j route to Seldovia to adjust a fire loss in a restaurant at that place. Dr. R. S. Alvah Eames was a returning pas senger on the Admiral Evans, from a visit to the postoffices at Cordova and Valdez. Mrs. B. J. Everman, Engineer creek rancher in the interior, reported to the Marshal’s office recently that another cow of her dairy herd had been shot. Federal officers immediately left for the creek to start an investigation. The present is the fourth instance this year of mysterious shooting of Ever man dairy animals. One cow was shot last summer.—Fairbanks News-Miner. FAIRBANKS COUPLE MARRIED Oliver Leonard Anderson of Nenana and Jean Shaffer of Fairbanks, were , united in marriage one day last week, U. S. Commissioner Mel R. Boyd per forming the ceremony. The bride has resided in Fairbanks for the last year, recently having established a dress making business there.
