ATTORNEY DECIDEDED BY DEFENDANT For all time, the harrowing days for CJapt. Christian Klengenberg over the grim tragedy 20 years ago when he, as captain of his ship, shot and killed a man in mutiny, were laid away by Judge Jam,es B. Kinney in Superior court in Seattle. , Forced to twice face trial for the same occurrence on the charge of murder, once before customs officers on a customs ship in the North and again in a Federal court in San Fran cisco, Captain Klengenberg doubly cleared, again was faced with the grim spectre when J. Delmore Lederman, a San Francisco attorney, brought suit .against him for legal fees in the sec ond trial years ago. The trial here, which came to c con clusion, was the result of a suit brought years ago by the San Fran cisco attorney. Captain Klengenberg, however, had returned to his fur gathering lands beyond the Arctic circle, and it was years before a pro cess server caught up with him on one of the captain’s trips to the United States to sell his furs. The jurors returned a verdict in fa vor of Captain Klengenberg, but Judge Kinne sent them back t<^ the jury room and directed them to return with a verdict that not only wras he not li able for the §3,000 the San Francisco attorney demanded with interest, but .that the court had found he had not even employed the counsel at any time. The verdicts were announced in court and Captain Klengenberg again departed for the land of furs with the prayer on his lips that at last the ghost of former years might now rest forever. j Mrs. H.
