AUR rough dry service does more than just wash
ing and drying, it fluffs bath towels, irons the flat
work—that is, everything goes through our mangle,
—and we starch clothes which require it, making
shorter and more pleasant your ironing work at
home. This service takes most of the heavy work
off your hands.

AUR H-K. Service for housekeepers and families
” takes away worry from their wash day. Every
thing—blouses, shirts, collars, undergarments,
dresses, aprons, children’s clothes—are beautifully
ironed by our experienced ironer. All flat work,
especially tablecloths and napkins, truly delight the

ice for housekeepers and who have large washing,

bachelors who have a small amou nt of laundry each

MAY OVER SAME MONTH LAST

A gain of $525,079 in Alaskan pro
ducts shipped to the States last month
over those of May, 1926, wa^ indicated
in the monthly summary of commerce
made public in Juneau by J. C. Mc
Bride, Collector of Customs. The to
tal for the month was $1,745,332, as
compared to $1,220,253 for the same1
month last year.
Over 50 per cent of the increase
was in copper ore shipments which
had a value of $845,191, an increase of j
$311,513. Canned salmon jumped
from $290,759 to $355,062. Fresh and
frozen fish shipped last month had a
declared value of about $172,500 as |
compared to $158,500 in May, 1926.

The canning season for Alaskan
towns is similar to what hop picking
was formerly to Puget Sound resi
dents. Many families and school chil
dren depend upon work in the car
neries and a good many of them be
come quite expert in the different
grades of work.
Inquiries among the canneries indi
cate that there will be a more active
demand than usual for local labor
this summer.
