SITE FOR YACHT CLUB SAN FRANCISCO, June 17. (/P)— The harbor board approved of a per mit for the newly organized San Fran * cisco Yacht Club to be assigned a site 200 by 300 feet on the shore of Marianasfi the new yacht harbor. A clubhouse will be erected at a cost of more than $100,000. Waino Niemi, Anchorage youth who has been attending college in the States, will be among those arriving in Seward tonight on the steamer Yukon. He will spend the summer with his parents at Eska. YUKON DUE AT 8 P. M. The S. S. Yukon, of the A. S. S. Co., is due to arrive in port at 8 o’clock this eveniug, a cording to the local office. RUMOR WAS CORRECT The rumor that a plane was com ing to Seward last Sunday with three passengers for the S. S. Aleutian was correct according to mail reports from Anchorage. Pilot R. H Merril was unaware of the fact that the summer schedule of the Alaska Steamship Co., had been changed from Saturday to Sunday. Dr. E. Von Zesch had intended to come to Seward to make connections with the Aleutian. It is thought she will arrive tomorrow night by rail. Strictly fresn candies. Schallerer'» Alaska Shop. MORE PARTIES COMING Dr. S. Hall Young, veteran mission ary of Alaska who is now Westward with the tourist party, is said to have initiated the construction of more churches in Alaska for the Presbyterian order than any other man. He is now acting as guide for the Rev. Mr. Stevens, Presbyter ian party, and will head two more large excursion parties to Alaska this summer. The World Friendship Society will leave Seattle July 14 for a trip to Alaska under the guidance of the “mushing parson" and the other Presbyterian party will leave on July 26. W. J. Shannon, well konwn Alaska clog-mushar and mining man, h 13 jas t -eturned to Nenana from the •11s, according to a letter received by the Gateway. Mr. Shannon brought a limit catch of 20 beaver. YACHT RACE TO ALASKA Three prominent yachtsmen of Olympia, Wash., John C. Pierce. E J. Thompson, and Adolph D. Schmitt, have suggested in Seattle that, a power boat race from Olympia to Alaska be run. Such a race would be of considerable interest and at tract much attention to Puget Sound and Alaska as a yachting center. There will be no mid-night sun ex cursion to Fairbanks over the Alaska Railroad this season. However, the Anchorage Elks are going up to Fair banks to assist in nutting through 30 “baby elks." George Raats who, a few months ago was employed as chef in the Seward Grill, has purchased an in terest in the Model Cafe, Fairbanks’ largest restaurant.
