Steese, as president of the Alaska Road Commission, is at the present time, in the Interior district enroute to Nome. It is said that upon his re turn South he will come out through Seward, enroute to his Juneau head quarters. Jack Goodchild, who has been jani tor in the McKinley block, Anchorage, left on the S. S. Alaska for Seattle. It is his first trip Outside in over 30 years, it is said. Elizabeth C. Dorman, of Talkeetna, passed thru Seward Saturday enroute to the States. Arrivals in Seward from the Inter ior bring word that navigation on the mighty Yukon river has closed, for the year on account of the early low wat er. The low mark was reached last Friday. Three coaches, packed to the mud rails, -were attached to the regular train from the Interior, on Saturday, the majority of the passengers being enroute to the States on the S. S. Alaska. FRANK MOORE GOES OUT In quest of health, Frank Moore, local painter and decorator who has been in poor health for several months departed yesterday, a passenger on S. S. Admiral Watson, for Oregon and perhaps California. Mr. and! Mrs. Stevenson have moved into the Episcopal parsonage. A regular meeting of the Seward City Council is scheduled to be held this evening. It is reported the U. S. S. Surveyor will remain in Resurrection bay for a pumber of days this wreek completing a few more soundings. R. H. Chadwick, salesman for the U. S. Rubber Co., was among the local 1 arrivals Saturday from the South on Lhe S. S. Alaska. Mr. Chadwick contin aed on to Fairbanks today. FISH PACK BY DISTRICT FOR SEASON OF 1827 !
